I pictured us together
Ever since you kissed me on the 29’s upper deck
That day you told me you had found a reason
To come back to this city of light and dark.
Ever since I saw you seated on that chair
Right in front of me
Wearing your green t-shirt
I haven’t been able to see anything else
You blinded me with your beauty
You claimed my name and made it yours.
The hours and nights we spent together
I keep them all dearly
Like a dwarf do with gold
Every single caress of yours
Every single kiss of yours
Every single word of yours
Every single tear of yours
Every single grin of yours
They are my biggest treasures
They are my biggest possessions.
Now you’re back on your side of the world
Far away from where I stand
But for me, you’re still here
Lying next to me
Or so I wished
So I could caress your sunny hair until you fell asleep.
I miss your essence in the mornings
Your wildness before going to sleep
I miss your jokes and your wisdom
I just wish you were here.
I sometimes want to tell you everything
Free the words and let them ride wild
I sometimes wonder how would it feel to be yours
And how would you react holding the truth in your hands.
I think you know already
You probably did before I did
I would love to know if you think about me
In the same way, I do about you.
There is time and space between us
But would you let me come closer to you?
Would you leave the door opened and keep the keys for me?
I will wait until the sun and the clouds become one
I will wait until my heart stops beating for you
And will only do it to keep me alive
I will wait until I won’t anymore
And your memories feel like an “illicit affair”
Just like the song I sang for you that Sunday over lunch
Or maybe I will just do so, evermore.
